Julie Lukachko
- Age : 30
- Hometown: Goderich, Ontario
- Occupation: Chiropractor
- Years as a Triathlete: 6 years
- Years as a Bretscher Multisport athlete: 4th year
- Accomplishments as a Bretscher Multisport athlete:
- 2011 Rev 3 Iron Distance debut: 11:26-7th place overall
- Has taken olympic PR from 2:41 to 2:22 in past two seasons
- Has set PRs in every distance raced each season with BMS
- Favorite Triathlon Moment/Memory: Crossing the finish line of my first iron distance race after smiling pretty much the entire marathon portion of the race. Having Dana, Daniel and my parents there meant so much. It got even better when I realized what my time was and that I had actually won my age group!
- Funny/Embarrassing Tri Moment: Convincing Dana that he NEEDED to put clipless pedals on my bike (for the first time) the night before a triathlon. I fell multiple times warming up for the race, scraped up my knees and elbows, started crying and didn't want to race. I eventually did race but the advice of never trying anything new the day of the race is beyond true, especially when it comes to clipless pedals!
- Favorite Race: Rev3 Cedar Point Full Rev. Rev3 knows how to put on an incredible race for both participants and spectators. Very cool awards too. Muskoka 70.3 is a close second. The small town Canadian hospitality is unmatched. So are the hills...
- Fun Facts: I am getting married to fellow BMS athlete Dana Riederer 11/10/12. Dana proposed during a morning run in my hometown. We have planned our honeymoon to Europe in the summer of 2013 to watch the Tour de France. Good thing I am fluent in French :)
- 2012 Race Schedule:
- Wisconsin Half Marathon
- Pleasant Prairie Olympic Triathlon
- Rev3 Wisconsin Dells Half Rev
- Rev3 Cedar Point Full Rev
- Several smaller local races as well
- Testimonial: Every year that I have worked with Daniel, I have improved immensely. I have accomplished times/distances that I didn't know I was capable of and I know I couldn't have done them without Daniel's coaching. He is prompt to answer phone calls and emails and very flexible to work with. I always seem to have something happen in the middle of the season that shakes up my training and he figures out a way to work around it and make it work. It is also great to have weekly feedback on my training and the occasional well-timed motivational e-mail. Daniel is very passionate about the sport of triathlon and it shows in his coaching. He truly cares about his athletes. I am excited to continue as a BMS athlete as I know more good things are in store!
